Plugfest 2004

OK, it's a go, I reserved the hall today. We have the hall for Jan. 3rd 2004 from 9-4. We have to vacate the premises by 4PM. No alcohol please, John and I don't feel there's any need to have a bartender at this function. We can use the kitchen to warm up food and stuff but have to clean up after. All parking should be across the street in their lot(it has a sign) Handicap paking in front or side is allowed but please do not park out back as that is for the members only. Come in the front - it's upstairs in case you come in the back. I'll post directions later, it's easy to find - Elm st. just off rt. 28 address is 29 Elm St.
There is a dance floor that we could setup some benches for a couple lathes and we should bring a couple shopvacs also. The hall has many round tables and chairs to do fly tying and for eating or whatever. So if someone can bring a bench(since the tables are only 30" high), a mini lathe or a shopvac, please speak up. Anyone have a benchtop drill press?can you bring one? If you want to turn plugs and can bring your own set of chisels, it might be a good idea, bring some blanks also.

I can bring - first of all, a triple batch of Melissa's brownies
also a set of chisels, AYC blanks, a drill chuck for a lathe, a handheld drill with bits, leadshot,and other assorted tools and safety glasses or faceshield. I can't bring my lathe as it's too heavy.
A few have already said they can bring stuff, so if you can reply here also then we can keep track easier.
We have over 30 signed up already so it will be $5 to pay at the door, Thanks

We will give out tickets and have a raffle too.

So let's hear what you can bring and we'll make this another successful get together, Thanks

So far we have -

Bigfish = meatballs
JohnR = shepards pie
Cal = chili
salty = gasmasks
bassmaster = T.P.
steelhead = bucktail
Flaptail = kielbasa
capesams = drill press ans shop vac and rod blanks if ya need any.
canalman = shells
Christian = chips,soda or cookies
toonoc = mexican dip
Bud8fan = pasta salad
Eben = glass eyes
ChrisH = RIBS also mini lathe
KarlF = bottled water , diet coke maybe dessert
rizzo = dessert and shopvac
missing link = finger sandwiches and shopvac
Macojoe = ziti
goose = 2 cases of soda
Specialist = cups
Backbeachjake = shopvac and soup
ThrowingTimber = soda
AdamR = chips,snacks and soda
drumcorpfan = hot peppers,sardines + crackers
Notaro = soda + meat
Fishweewee = popcorn chicken
goosefish = oysters
Westport Jeff = donuts and coffee
Got Stripers = cookies
Rock Bottom = doctored up baked beans lookout bassmaster!
GBOUTDOORS = Venison
justplugit = Swedish meatballs.

OK, that's the list so far. I guess we are all set for shopvacs. If we can get 3 mini-lathes atleast that would be good.The more the merrier. With all the people signed up so far maybe we could use some more lathes. However, like I mentioned before , the tables are 30" off the floor so maybe I could make up some small stands for the mini-lathes to bring the height to a more comfortable working height, Anyone got any ideas? I hope this isn't a cluster$%*&

I 'll try to update this list in a few days.

IF ANYONE IS BRINGING A WARM DISH, IT WOULD HELP TO BRING IT IN A CROCKPOT IF POSSIBLE, or in some kind of pan so we can warm it in the oven. THANKS

Would anyone like some Kielbasa? I am half French and half Polish so if not Kielbasa it would be Crepe Suzzette! Kielbasa with some nice honey mustard! Yum!

I have a benchtop drill press but it's kind of a p.o.s. If no one else speaks up I will bring it. As far as food goes... I'll bring stuffed shells... that sound ok?

shells sounds good canalman.

I have some suggestions for food, maybe some small sandwiches would be good , also maybe a stew or something. Someone could chip in and bring disposable bowls,plates or plastic silverware.

Each year we have this thing it is a blast. We get to meet new faces and trade techniques and learn from each other. The best part is we all pitch in and everybody helps out as a group. Certainly quite an accomplishment from a bunch of nutty fisherman who met on a website! I am looking forward to this.

Oh one more thing, with that use of the kitchen it also means we get ice and use of refrigerator too.
