epoxy around the thru-wire holes ?

I normally epoxy the holes where the tru-wire enters/exits (nose and tail) my plug so that water doesn't enter. Now, I thinking the salt water can't exit either when I hang the plugs to dry and may end up getting absorbed or having an effect on the wood over tiime (even if the wood is sealed) b/c the only exit hole would be the belly hole.

Any suggestions or pros/cons on filling the nose and tail thru-wire hole w/ epoxy vs. leaving the hole as is ?

i think drianage is a good thing. fresh water flowing thru plug when rinseing can't be bad.

let them dry out ... Gibbs plugs are not sealed and they get heavier as time passes if youo do not alternate them.

gibbs plugs ARE sealed, they just aren't using as strong of a sealer as they used to.

my opinion is to let the wood breathe, leave the front and rear open too.
hooks will eventually penetrate openings in the wood anyway, that is if you catch fish on the plugs.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

Some plugs like pencils that have the wieght in the tru wire I don't care how good u seel em water gets in there an it don't get out.It makes em heavy.I wanna do some like the Plastic atoms.with just the top half of the swivel out of the epoxy.Pencils are fine but U gotta be carefull on plugs like swimmers it adds more weight than u think that could adversly effect the action.
