how to get sound on my computer

I have a used laptop but the sound does not work. Can I download some kind of software to use so the sound will work?
It has bluetooth, but the few songs I could get on my itunes thingy won't even work thru the Bose bluetooth speaker.
I can't figure this out
anyone?

well ya find yer control panel

then you look for device manager

might be in system

then proceed to audio to see if your device is listed in there

run a check on drivers (set of instructions)
see if they are up to date

in some operating systems SKIP
you have to delete the offending device completely
as it is HARDWARE (a sound card)

and then let it be re-discovered when you re boot
(since it's hardware)
then allow it to reload the drivers
then it should work in most scenarios

already checked that

all set now with the device, the speakers work now on the laptop, the wife went to Lenovo and uploaded the device, got the sound working but now the Bose speaker is not working with it yet from bluetooth, working on it now even though it says it recognizes it.
it has some driver issue
