Docs are in a difficult position. The states are loaded with unfunded mandates and demands and the lawyers are poised to pounce on them. IMO the basic problem is the "you can't turn anyone away and you have to treat them for free" mantra everyone seems to chant. You see everyone is seeking free care now. If you turn them away, they can sue your ass. The docs are in a no win situation.

For example, A girl comes into the ER and demand a pregnancy test and they have to give one. When asked, why don't you go to the drug store and buy a pee stick? they respond..."If I go to the drug store I have to pay $10 for the stick, If I come here it is for free" (cause they refuse to pay the bill). THIS IS HOW BAD IT HAS GOTTEN..they will go out of their way to avoid paying 10 bucks.

BTW..YOU voted in the goons that put this stuff into effect, it is really YOUR OWN fault.

I know...Obama will fix it. with computers. Just like he will fix the energy crisis by putting air in my tires. The guy does not know the first thing about healtcare or energy, but he will save us. dream on you stupid fools, dream on.

Well, that was pretty #&$%&# disturbing...

To tell ya the truth, I don't think opening that up at home comes highly recommended either...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

If we weren't talking about the birth of eight human beings here this could be considered obscene. Like Sandman says, we keep voting the people into office that make people like Octomom not only survive life but actually thrive.

Best part is the caption under the picture:

I think the girl has some mental issues. Maybe she feels being a mom gives meaning to her life. You would think 6 was enough to provide meaning but maybe she needs a lot of meaning to her life to be happy so now 14.

Since the media keeps treating evenys like this as a circus show, to be wrung out for every ounce of ratings they can get, maybe we should REALLY treat this like a circus show, and keep her and her kids on display, 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 365 DAYS A YEAR with the warning:

If you're stupid enough to have kids when you can't afford kids, thus could happen to you!

I happened to get stuck watching a little of Dr Phil last night
He did have one lucid thought (before I summarily changed the channel to ANYTHING ELSE.)

He said: "If she believed that children helped "complete" her life, and Child 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 didn't do it for her, did she seriously think that child 7,8,9,10,11,12,13 or 14 was going to do it either? "

We can't afford for her to hacve any more kids!
That's all, end of story.

As much as the media is to blame for dragging this out.....they wouldn't be dragging it out if the ratings weren't good.

This is the Reality TV Mentality of people now-a-days....its the constant "Slowing Down to see the Accident" Mentality running rampant.

She's actually getting MORE publicity then any other multiple birth mothers because this story is a friggin train wreck.....and people always slow down to check out the wreck

The reports today are saying she is infatuated with Angelina Jolie and has even had plastic surgery to look like her.
Don't know if any of that is true but FisherTim hit it on the head about a media circus.
