New Scale Pattern

So I decided to try some new matrial for painting plugs.

I used a pice of matting from a non slip rug mat, the kind you can get at any department store. I took this one from my girls place. The material has a tacky sticky feel to it but doesnt effect the plug.

The holes are small and irregular shaped. The key is spraying light coats and going in all directions to make sure you get it all.

I really like the results it gave me. I sprayed a yellow base and used red for the pattern, to make it show up and see if i liked it. I use the clothes pin method for holding the pattern in place.

Something different to try out.

Stuff is cheap too, and comes in different sizes.

I used rattle cans to do mine, but im pretty sure an airbrush would work too.

No BT those are plastic beachmaster style eyes, from m and ds. Those are my favorite style.

I'll be putting some real glass eyes and some taxidermy eyes on my surfsters

lol .Chumbucket was using that several years ago. Here are some plugs he painted and gave me a few years ago. The needle with that pattern is so nice. The pic doesn't do it justice. I made the larger trolling plug and he painted it for me with every technique I think he does on it.

BTW nice job on your plug too.

Yeah I had seen some plugs on that other site that have that pattern and could never figure out what it was until I sprayed mine, then it clicked.

I really like the pattern and will be doing more plugs in that style.

Sweet looking plugs Paul, that troller has a ton of different things going on! Chum does sick work.
