Weekend Round up 9/13/20

Got out on boat for the morning Saturday. Pogies and some of the tiny macks in the livewell. Could not find any takers, nor did I see any schools being bothered.... By noon the east wind came up enough to make the swell less than comfortable and I retreated to the harbor for a few trolls before releasing the baits after one or two hits.
Continued with the decking replacement today.
Wednesday and Thursday's forecasts have me thinking about albies... Will wait to hear some weekend reports

Whatcha got? I could see this as a weekly thread, as was suggested by someone...

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms.” – James Madison.

Tried to get outside yesterday. just too nasty up my way, got out this morning and because of the nasty inlet and forecast for the week pulled my lobster pots for the season.

On the bass front, the river had been hot, it all ended, Wednesday, good incoming tides this week favor river fishing
.time will tell.

Ten year anniversary this week headed to vineyard next week and hopes to catch up with an old friend I met through this site on a trip to cutty. Just to pass on how this site has influenced me met some guys I may only see once a year but always more than a pleasure to make some casts and Catch up with.

A Sea-turtle could have beat me out the river this morning as the fog was about as thick as it gets...... Sun finally did it's job but NO fish were injured this morning. Alberto was no-where to be found.....

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

good thread. got down to milford area, caught some snappers and some blue crabs in a briny saltwater pond. snappers still fun on a trout rod, made crab marinara sauce for dinner. we are all lucky to live near the water.

Got out with Guppy today and I think I’m still moving, lots of swell. One would think that at this time of year with sunrise and the outgoing starting the mouth of the Westport River would have some action, even if not Albert. Not a bird working anywhere all morning, but we blew through a lot crabs and shorts to scrape four keepers out of the morning. Thanks for the invite Ray.

We pounded the hell out of our area through some tough conditions covering a lot of water for 3 nites and only had a handful small fish between us. Yet north south east and west seems like anyone with a rod is crushin whoppers. They just don't live down here anymore. Soooo depressing. Can't wait for this terrible dismal season to be done

Ray was in silver GMC but that times too late, he would have likely already been on cape, I think we were on 88 around 12:45.

skipped the weekend mayhem and opted for Monday....had the albies pretty much to ourselves with the exception of an occasional boat out there bottom fishing....they weren't showing on the surface early but they were cruising in predictable places because they were happy to come up out of nowhere and smash an albie snax on the surface.....found them deep in a harbor later in the morning which was a little unexpected but great fun trying to work around the boats and moorings doubled up in the wind....found them again further up the bay after noon and the tide turn but it seemed the higher, brighter sun and perhaps smaller bait made them impossible to entice despite good numbers...sure has a fall feel to it out there this morning...

Spent the last 2 nights in the river getting blasted by the wind... sadly nothing to show for it..sure wish I could get outside..

A good run is better than a bad stand!
