Best Concert You Ever Saw Live!

I have seen some great ones...but Stevie Ray Vaughn, anytime I saw him was the best.....however seeing him play with Jeff Beck on his last tour was the most jaw dropping show I have ever seen and as I say...seen the best guitar slingers there are...hands down that was the best!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

John Lee Hooker

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

KISS with Ted Nugent was incredible!

Just about the whole front row of girls were topless, PRICELESS!

Ozzy with Aerosmith, ya had to be there! Steve Tyler must have had 40 pairs of panties thrown at him.

Ahh, bring back all the "old" bands!

Insanity is a long and winding road ... I think I finally made it there.

well ya have to be a fan

but one of my favorites was a jethro Tull concert...

everyone was getting real anxious and we're like, where the F__K is the band....???
little did we know...that the set up people had exchanged places with the band in those white technician coats...and suddenly they were doing stuff on stage to slowly get our attention.... and when they finally did....they whip off their tech clothes and the lights go out....and its just black.....and then they Hammered us bigtime...

but my favorite one was...when a group of us (25 people) go to see the rolling stones concert in the early seventies ok...but nobody knew that over 500 tickets had been counterfitted so 500 people with real tickets showed up wicked mad and started a riot outside because they were not allowed in.

as the concert starts a friend in our group had this spike horn deer antler pipe for smokin...and had gone down to the floor to see some chick....and this dude trys to steal it from him so he jabs him with it..and a fight breaks out bigtime...ok...well 50 cops rush in
then 500 people rush in starting the chant... "no no no...let him go" so a hundred cops rush in..and 1000 fans rush in... soon the whole place is screaming bloody murder LET HIM GO ,,,LET him GO...so loud it seemed as if the roof would cave in.... and finally the police decided to let him go...........
or all hell would have broke loose.... so everyones cheering...right

next on the big 50 x 50 screen comes an episode of "Dragnet" with joe friday and bill gannon...but as that big hammer came down striking the anvil it was perfect sweet poetic justice for the little guy....

anyways because of the riot outside....cars burning and lots of riot police on horses ect... the Stones had to play for an additional
45 minutes to keep everyone inside so they wouldnt add to the
mayhem outside the sports arena... so that made the concert seem to last forever.....

Jethro Tull at the Garden..Maybe around 1980 or so...Didnt need to bring anything in to smoke..All you needed to do is breath... Boy was it foggy in there...Next best is any of the Elton John concerts I have been too..Probally 7 or 8...3rd best was James Taylor at the Brockton High School in the early 80's..Probally only about 100 people there

I'm going where I'm going...

The most fun was at the 10 Phish shows I saw. 2000 New Years Eve in Florida, Platisburg New York, lemon wheel, to name a few. The best best Bell Aflec at Berkley in Boston was good. I saw Rat Dog with Bobby Weir at the Springfield Sypathy Hall. Great show. Little Red Rooster was the encore. Greatful Dead at High Gate Vermont with Bob Dylin...OK not great. Three Almond Brothers Shows at Tweeter. Kid Rock at Tweeter. Memory is still kind of sketchy. I am missing a lot. Oh yeah George Clinton at Stone Hill Colledge. Only about 200 people there. Realy cool.

thats why they call it fishing not catching

Yes opened for Jethro Tull at the Hampton Beach Casino
1969 I think
It was the last concert held there for many years

So many I know I'll forget too many!... But stand-outs:

-- David Gilmour solo, 69th St. Pier, NYC, circa 1983

-- Roger Waters solo, with Eric Clapton guest Guitarist, Meadowlands, NJ, 1985?

-- Kinks, Roseland Ballroom, NYC (dance hall-- no seats!), w/ newcomer Cyndi Lauper opening, Winter 1985?

-- Rick Wakeman, solo w/ his band Post- Yes, Ritz Club in NYC, 1984

-- Pretenders, Aragon Ballroom, Chicago 1986

-- Jeff Beck and Santana, Jones Beach, NY Summer '90?

-- Rush-- every time, every place!!... Virtuosos all, esp. live!

John R... Respectfully, but you never saw Pink Floyd! There is NO such thing as Pink Floyd without Roger Waters!! (And, no: sorry, I cannot believe that the Hooters were an all- time great concert!

Dad Fisherman: I'm very jealous that you saw Ozzy with Randy Rhoads still alive!! To me Randy was every bit as great at that young age, as is/ was Clapton/ Beck/ Santana. The very best "Heavy" Guitarist since Jimi H.!-- too bad "only the great die young!!"

Pearl Jam- Augusta Civic Center, Augusta,ME fall'97- Really small venue, general admission, its pretty much just as big as a basketball court w/ stadium seating on the sides. Unbe-freakin-lievable!!!!!! The show was so loud and you could get right up in front. Great set list, it was right after YIELD had come out. Eddie was in rare form this night, especially when all of a sudden out of the dark Maine night Dennis Rodman walked onto the stage, handed Ed a glass of wine and then lifted him to his shoulders and sang ALIVE with him. Great stuff.

Beer is the reason we get up each afternoon.
