Panademic precautions at work

My father works for a large defense contractor. They just got a 6" thick booklet about enacting precautions during a panademic. They are going to start implementing the measures immediatly. SOme of the measures include, requireing everyone to wear masks, and washing desks and work areas multiple times a day. Anyone else's workplaces doing anything similar?

I swept the crumbs off of my home office desk after my sandwich at lunch today.

It all seems very silly.

This "swine flu" is no more dangerous than the regular flu that comes around every winter. People die due to the regular flu as well.

Are people going to start wearing masks December through March from now on?

Lots of folks in Lowe's today buying masks! But no candles, batteries, milk, bread or beer????

Silly is right! You can run but you can't hide!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I went out and bought a 24 pack of Miller Lite bottles as it was on sale on base for $13.95. No masks for me. So far the percentages of serious or fatal reactions dont seem much worse than regular flu. Id worry more about when this thing comes back next fall, then it will pack more of a punch.....

The scary part is the rapid expansion of the cases. If this were to mutate to a more deadly strain, watch out...

I think we should all go fishing, alone. The best defense is a good offense. We got the obligatory email about how its transmitted and to wash/sanitize your hands. One of my departments were all wearing face masks on Friday. Occasionally they wear them when there isnt a pandemic among us. I was a bit surprised to see it. They do sort soiled laundry so i guess it isn't a real shock. They are mostly hispanic, maybe they are watching the news from south of the border wear they are having more of a problem with it and are being overly causation. That is fine, i dont want them to miss work.

Everything is better on the rocks.

and all those fish needing to be caught down there |

but at this phenomenal growth rate of doubling the population
every six months they will be in New England eventually too
