Wink I Got The Bug Bad!

Last few days have been gorgeous outside...sunny and warm and I must admit I have been turning my butt off in anticipation of the coming striper season! Any of you guys starting to stockpile your plugs for this season? It will be here before you know it and I plan on having many for swapping when I bump into you guys out fishing! I can't wait!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Don't know what you are talking about, the season already started or do you mean the topwater season that starts in about 6 weeks

Gotta get my shots in while I can. We only have a short plugging season for Stripers, few real blitzs, and no bluefish Plus living 2 hours from the lake puts a damper on the fishing sometimes.

The plug building is slowing way down for me. I have a zillion things to do before the season starts. CLean, lube and replace drag washers on 8 reels, re-spool all of them with fresh braid. Replace a jillion hooks and split rings, front lower and upper ball joints on the blaze, new sneakers and front shocks as well for it too. New bearings and seals on the trailer for the skiff plus lower unit lube and plugs for the motor not to mention pulling the prop to grease that shaft and nut assembly and put in new pin and clip. Re wire the humming bird with new cable I just got. Paint and touch up on the boat and seats. Still have to figure out what reel to buy to replace the 16 year old Shimano GT-100 on my 8 foot St.Croix tidemaster conventional. I got to get busy!

Why even try.........

I have almost come to a stop..since the kids arrived. I have about a dozen poppers turned, but that's as far as I've gotton with them....need more time. I haven't even checked out my gear since last season. I washed it all down, hung it up, and it's still sitting right there.....that makes me sad.
