Preasure treated wood

Question. I've got a bunch of pt trimings from repairing my roof and the size is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2. Any words of wisdom or caution usin this stuff.I've got about 75 ft of it. Can't stand to just dump it and looks like good turnin stuff for experiments. Ron

No...... Even though they have changed the cocktail, it still has some nasty stuff in it. Last thing you would want is to have is airborne particulates of that stuff IMHO.... Make some trellises out of it instead.

I've already got that part covered with a mask and apretty good dust and vent system. I'm looking a little beyond that in things like drilling, soak, finishes an such.

WHAT HAPPENS when you take your mask OFF

There's still dust in your shop. It's still in your air. Every time you shuffle your foot some will come off the floor. You want copper in your blood?

There are very specific guidelines for cutting the stuff. I doubt turning is one of them. Besides why turn the stuff if it's so bad for you. It's spruce or southern yellow pine. CRAP wood....

Good points Scott. Even as good as the Vac system is there's still left over dust under the lathe. Thanks forgot about the obvious.

Yeah Ron I need your Vineyard reports so I can not catch any fish when I'm there, which is not your fault btw.

LOL the day after you left things picked up at the rip a bit but any good stripers were only coming on bait on the beach. One or 2 fish a night an that was it.I never broke 35 in out there this yr.Between the whole group I fish with no one got a striper over 40 in and the blues were mostly small on plugs. the bigger ones mostly came on bait like the stripers. Tough yr. good thing the size limit was 32 in LOL. Most of the dailys would never have been won.Happy Holidays Paul.
