IPhone ?

Dumb it down for me.

Can I use it with my verizon service? or do I need to switch providers/ get new number?
How much money are we talking a month? I'm at about 60 bucks with my verizon phone, with unlimited pix and text.
Any other pluses or drawbacks? Cheaper places to pick one up? decent rebates? etc...
Thanks

FF,

Right now, I believe the IPhone was limited to AT&T. HOWEVER, a friend went to verizon to inquire about a "smart phone" and he was told that the IPhone should be coming over to Verizon sometime after August this year.

As far as AT&T, I'm paying for 3 phones, my IPhone with unlimited data, 700 family minutes with the rollover, my wife and I have 250 text messages and then my folks (the third phone) is just the basic phone with no messages/data. We're right around $130/month. I think the basic data plan was $30 for unlimited and then the cell plan.

Hope that helps. I love my iphone...don't know how I've survived without it!

What Bob said.

Great phone - you will be in fear of getting it wet though. Expensive to replace. Used broken up ones that barely work go for 200-300 on Fleabay

wife just bought me one for fathers day for 199$

The thing is like a small computer.

Some of the apps are amazing! I use the navionics charts of the east coast using the built in GPS capabilities. I can see exactly what the depth of the water is directly where my cast will land....works in a boat too.

The problem is that the battery drains quickly and you will treat it like a computer.

My daughter has one, the most amazing machine ever, Capt. Kirk's was a pos in comparison.. She has it all of course for around 60 bucks. ATT.

its been "coming" to verizon for a while now, i wouldn't hold your breath. hopefully it will soon. i'll buy one if it does. i won't switch to at&t though.

closest thing on verizon in the BB Storm. Its nowhere close to the iphone but it is a decent smart phone, now that they have come out with upgrades. Actually pretty close to the iphone now except when it comes to games, which i'm not into anyway. When it first came out, it sucked. Rushed to the market to compete with iphone = lots of bugs. There's a new version of that coming out soon too. the iphone will always be ahead of it though IMO.
