unknown solid white

I was told he bought them on the canal in the 70's
Top one is wire tru and looks like you could wrap an eel skin on it.
The bottom one is screw eye.
Now who made them ?

My uneducated eye says Gibbs, those hooks have some very long shanks don't they.

Well the hooks are original Auburns so they were either hanging around and got used or those plugs date from the fifties before Mustad bought the Auburn hook plant in Auburn NY. The loop on the back is not Gibbs style on the metal lip swimmer, my guess is home made by someone, like so many here, that had a lathe and access to parts, which wasn't easy back then, and copied Gibbs to a point and also a Atom jumior but added the groove for the line tie for an eelskin. I would put my best guess at early to mid 60's knock offs by a home builder who was contemplating getting into the commercial end.

Why even try.........
