Talking Fish Report for 5/10/2009

Well we hit Cape Cod this past weekend to do some shore fishing, hoping to really beat up the fishies. We hit the Bourne area 1st and managed about 17 schoolie Stripers between 4 of us in about 2 1/2 hours. Then we headed down to the south side of the cape and fished the falling tide there for another 3 hours and only managed 3 fish there.

We caugh most of the fish at the 1st spot on Coccoho pearl shads and our teaser rigs and had a few fish hit top water.

The second spot I got one fish on the coccoho shad and the other fish were caught on a gibbs white pensil popper and a cotten cordel pensil popper in blue and chrome.

The wind was up in the afternoon, but it should have been perfect conditions to really kick some schoolie butt. Things just look a little on the slow side for this time of spring in the salt rivers and estuaries. The water was warm and there was also alot of Silver Sides around so there was no lack of bait.

Hopefully by next weekend we should be into the 1st racer spring Bluefish down on the Cape along with more Bass and some a little bigger.

There are reports of keeper bass being caught in the Canal right now as the herring runs are in full swing. Its time to get out and get your line wet.

We should have our boat in the water by the weekend in Boston Harbor and should be able to find some mackerel and bass creeping into our waters in the next couple of weeks as well.

If you would like to get on our Shared Trip email list or book a trip give us a call and we will get your scheduled.
