Howdy

How do you fish a surf howdy? What are the ideal conditions (i.e. fast current, big surf, etc..)?

All conditions are ideal.

The Howdy can be slowly retreived in calmer conditions leaving a nice "V" wake.
In rougher conditions it can be made to walk the dog using short snaps of your rod tip in a cadence. It can also be worked like a standard popper or even a pencil popper.

I tell my customers to throw it and work the plug a variety of ways and let the fish tell you what they prefer.

Good luck!!
