Reel Issues

I recently purchased a new spinning reel this winter, and I have about 10 hours on it so far, but it seems to be acting weird. For example, when I am retrieving it feels like there is a massive stress on the line , when there isnt; and on a couple of times it locks up, when there is little to no stress .

It is a 7bb baitrunner. The first couple times I brought it out it was very smooth retrieve, now its acting up and I have no idea. Is it a grease issue? I tangled the line at one point my first couple times out, is it possible that this is causing the problem?

Totally lost...I've never owned a saltwater reel until this year, my freshwater reels (small crappie reels) have never acted like this so Im completely lost - any help appreciated!

Check to see if the line roller is turning freely. If not, take it apart and clean/lube it.
You may also need to disassemble, clean and lube the whole reel.
I do mine pretty often to keep them operating smoothly, ecspecially if I dunk it.
