this is an awesome thread, its great to see what everyone is using now and days.

This past fall I broke my loomis 1266 after 5 yrs of hard use and 2 yrs of wetsuit abuse. Probably going to try a lami gsb next!

One change is the quality of the current generation of budget reels, I can't see ever again paying the price for even a used stella or saltiga for fishing for striped bass.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on reels that fit in this category. I've been looking at the Daiwa BG series - just hav'nt decide which size to get
