Any one using Lithium LiFePO4 Battery

Any one using these as starting or House batteries.

I have one for my trolling motor 36v but it charges not via the outboard

My batteries are 11 years old and seem fine until they’re not

I want to at least swap out the current deep cell for a lifepo4 battery

And my current onboard charger can charge this type of battery

But my concern is charging while underway .. seems to be 2 camps it’s fine or you’re going to blow up…. Anyone with real world experience on this topic

I have used their 12v for my kayak depth finder, nice battery and charger package I purchased 4 years ago. Got two years out of the first, last year bought a two pac battery set, as the first wasn’t holding a charge any longer.

You got 11 years out if your batteries
That is just unreal. Seems the set up you have works well. Why make a change. KISS

I have been thinking the same thing .. i would only thinking of replacing the house battery with a lithium ion . and just get a new starting regular or AMG style .. not considering some of the 800 dollar batteries i've seen at bass pro

My biggest fear of the LI battery- how are you going to put out the fire if one occurs... that seems to be their biggest bug-a-boo.. .. as has been stated you got 11 years out of the current set- why do you want to change.

A good run is better than a bad stand!

from what I read the LiFePO4 are the safest type of lithium battery because they are not prone to overheating and even if they're punctured, they won't catch on fire. different chemistry ?

from a straight up lithium battery

and honestly if i am fighting a fire on the boat I am screwed anyway

just looking to change the House battery smaller same amp hour and they maintain their voltage till they discharge .. it's still a maybe .. if i did both id save probably 60lbs of weight in the stern . probably wouldn't notice honestly
