I was thinking of getting on the water close to sunrise, so around 5:30ish. Probably won't get my chit together until around 6 though!

I gotta get back for a wedding, so I want to get out there somewhat early, looks like this will be the beginning of the outgoing.

I'd love to be there, but I'm heading down to Providence to see a band with a friend on Fri night and don't expect to be up and out on the water at 6am. Besides that, I'm taking the son to a birthday party at 11am on Saturday.

You guys have fun! There are definitely fish around down there for you to harrass.

yeah I'm still in. Winds are not supposed to be bad, so we should be ok, and even if they are, it sounds like we could launch somewhere deeper inside the bay to get more shelter from it.

Also, not to be the "safety police", but you guys should all be wearing dry gear or a wetsuit, something to protect you from the cold water, it's still damn cold for the human body!

Yeah over on NEKF one of our mantras is dress for the water temp, not the air temp, although it sounds like they are going to be about the same!

the bottom line is, be prepared to go into the drink at all times, even though its kind of unlikely.

be careful at Barnstable boat ramps they will ticket you if you have no town sticker, Cotuit falls in that category. Beaches they will let you get away with it before Memorial day. Just a heads up if you are thinking about parking at a boat ramp. There is a beach or 2 in the area you can probably get away with since you are just throwing in a yak. Have fun. I'm going out in the tin on Monday as I just finished painting the kitchen so my wife now has to take down the for sale signs off my boats and I'm free.

I was there for a couple of hours this morning (not Oregon though). Fairly windy and a bit nippy. Bundle up! I was wading, not in a yak.

I was on the early side (5:15) and kayaked over to the mouth of big inlet and landed on the outer beach at the point.... the tide was racing out so no love there.. I went back past the Oregon beach launch and trolled for blues to the left of the put-in... ended up catching six 7-9 lb blues and kept 2 .... they loved my herring colored eelie repro... plenty of battle scars on that sweet plug

The new BIG Hobie rudder and turbo fins were awesome in all that wind and chop...plus the water must be 60 already... the wind dropped down to 10-15 after about 8AM so it was very comfortable.. esp when I found the blues
