Variety

The season has kicked off and now we can catch some sea bass for the kitchen. Occasional keeper bass are around and a doormat fluke is possible also. The togging has been great in the shallows but try to lay off the eggers. Get out and fish.

Disappointing day yesterday in BB for seabass. Spent the better part of the afternoon out there, caught a few barely legal fish and brought home a single tautog that hit a Lucanus jig. Didn't see any of the hundred or so boats around do much either. Heard the Sound was better. Did find loads of smallish bass eating squid on the way home. Nice day to be out regardless.

Was in BB both days over the weekend. Seabass definitely aren't in thick yet, but we had easy limits both days in relatively short order just had to bounce a round a little to find productive drifts.

I'm sorry but this just seems stupid to me. RI and MA should get on the same page.

No boat, back in the suds.

It's ridiculous that BSB is off limits here in RI. I typically leave the tog alone until the fall. Good size bass should be in good numbers by next week.
