tail loop

I use a allen wrench in a vice,I put the plug together...line up the wire...use a circle plyer to bend the wire 45 degrees(or more less than 90, maybe 50-60 degrees)then I put the wire around the allen wrench(the wrench is in a vice..tight) with reg plyers I bend the wire around the wrench about a turn...the I use the circle plyers to bend up the loop so its centered in the plug body...then I wrap it tight pulling on the body using reg plyers.......becareful wraping the wire tight some plugs you just want to snug the wire...medal liped plugs if you tighten the wire too much you'll bend the lip to the body.....needlefish and poppers I sock them down...I hate when the wire spins in a plug hope I helped...ed

its no ones fault

I use a similar method. I dont have a pair of round nose so I clamp a drill bit in a vice and form the tail loop around the bit. I then use reg needlenose pliers to make the wraps. I can only go a half a turn before having to flip the plug on the drill bit but they come out pretty good.

the L helps hold it in the vice. a punch works too sears sells then with a square sides...you can change the sizes too..... I got my round nose or circle plyers at walmart for like 3.50 its in there sewing or crafts dept cheap but they work good

its no ones fault

I'm not great at them, but I just bend to 45 degrees, grab with round nosed pliers at the bend, and wrap the wire around the pliers. Use the search and I think you'll find plenty on this.

Next plugfest, everyone should bring a few plugs to wire, and we can all demonstrate our techniques and try others too. I'm a caveman still so you don't wanna know how I do it. Habs showed me a fast way with a screwdriver.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

I struggled with this for the longest time too. It's hard if you haven't seen it done. The cave man showed me like 5 ways to do it.

I like when you nick the arse of the plug and take a chunk of paint off .. I pretty much do same as others ,,have a drill bit in a vice ,, use a small pair of vice grips to grab wire .. Be careful on darters.. I use a pair of needle nose to grab arse wire before bending up . This leaves a small space .. 1/8" about ..The problem is ,,When you crank that arse loop really tight you pull nose loop in tighty tight .. On darters I feel this acts like a wedge.. A wedge like you use splitting hardwood ..I glue nose loop in with marine 2 part epoxy .. get back to it later ..

Like tagger said u have to epoxy the front loop on a darter or as u tighten the rear up u will just suck the front up thru the thin top cut..

It's usually darkest just before it turns Black..

like to see the rest of that plug. Did you make it naked because of that nice knot that looks like an eye?
