Epoxy Question

I tried to coat one of my plugs in Epoxy.
I using loctite quick set epoxy.
I mixed the epoxy and added some fine pearl sparkle to the mixture and it looked great. I slopped the goo on the plug and rotated it so the epoxy would level out. It looks fantastic.
BUT.....it's been 3 days and the epoxy is still a little tacky.

Question..... is there additional drying time required when
you mix in sparkle.

I am also building some Epoxy minnows to use as droppers.
I added regular size silver sparkle flakes to this mixture and it started to set up but never dried. I hung the minnow to dry but next morning, the epoxy had sagged and I wound up just wiping it off the hook since it never hardened.

Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like your proportions of resin to hardner are off. Did you thin it with anything?

definately an improper mix of hardener and resin.

and another note once you mix anything with epoxy it becomes brittle, so if you ar mixing paint pigments or glitter or anything else it is always a good idea to add a second light skin coat over it. test it take two post it notes, mix a regular batch of epoxy on one and add something to the second batch. the next day fold the post its in half in the middle of the epoxy the one with the mix will crack and crumble and the one with regular epoxy will after a fairly hard time crack and tightly splinter but still stay fairly ridgid..

as for the problem at hand add a second light coat of properly mixed epoxy over it and you will be fine..

Thanks guys....
I was hoping it was something simple.
Adding the glitter really makes for interesting effects.
Maybe I'll make Christmas Tree Ornaments..............

Thanks again
