riding lawnmower

I am looking to replace my 42" mower with one that works.
can't afford 4 grand for a john deere and don't want a junky home depot/craftsman/lowes cheaped out mower.

Anyone got anything that is decent?

Bruce, there's a riding mower for sale down the street from my house, but it may be a Craftsman (looks like it but I'm not sure). If you want, I can take a look on my way home from work tonight and let you know.

Right off bay road on Lincoln st. Lincoln is just past the Chateau restaurant on the right if you're heading from 495 towards Easton. Probably less than a mile down on the right side. It is a Craftsman.

Sorry Bruce, I should have been more clear. It's Lincoln st in Norton near the Easton town line. Lincoln turns into Howard street when it enters Easton.

Bruce, there is a place in Assonet that sells all kinds of appliances, lawn mowers, tractors and things like that. I think its all new stuff, maybe closeouts or off seasons clearence. A friend of mine picked up a JD for less then $700. I am not sure of the name of the place but will find out for you.

Exit 9 off Rt 24, right off the exit, go a 100 yards? take your first right and he is on the left. Second building I think.

All over the place. Saw one this morning when I pulled out of the driveway at 4:30 to go fishing. Saw a real big doe Sunday night down off Prospect st. near Howard.
