So.....Who Fishes Anymore?

I know I do! Lots of kayak fishing both salt and freshwater! Seems all my fishing buddies have moved on to other things which is very cool too! Grandkids and family travels.......one is even pruning trees I hear! (Tagger). So who among us is till getting out and tightening a line?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I've gone to the dark side where they don't count, that and some bottom fishing.

Hey, Larry! Good to see you posting here again. I am getting out in the boat again, but have not been physically able to do any surfcasting since 2018. (wow, did not realize it had been THAT long...) Past two mornings right in my harbor. Pogies and bass were found. Today was a bit challenging with the wind....

I have gotten away from being in the surf, after COVID I am left with permanent lung damage and I don't have the stamina like I used to. I'm a bit worried about being out there alone. I have however been fresh water fishing with my son a little more. He goes with me to the beach once in a while too. The kayak has been a game changer as well.

Fly fish for trout a lot. I still fish The Block in November, this year very late Oct, in the surf but my 100 nights a year in the surf are over.

I have too many other things which have become more important. Hell, I've caught more Bass than most people would see in 2 lifetimes. Just don't get the thrill of catching anymore.

No boat, back in the suds.

Larry every time I see your posts from up north I get a real wish that I could go do that one more time ...then reality sets in,
I,ve done alot of fishing in my life , but I still can,t get the trips we made to Maine just for a 3 day weekend I think like 4 or 5 years in a row & then years later //one more time with a friend that was working out of Portsmouth,NH // that was a great trip brake up.
I even went as far as looking up the place we stayed ...DAMN its changed ..........I can go alot of places for what they charge .I think was a week for two plus extra,s .........
glad I have memories ...Life was good .................now no matter what I try to do / seems to be a challenge /
Id shoot the M/F@#$%^&Er that calls this the goldern years >>>>one thing for sure is whoever or whatever it was that said it was {HIGH] an not this age ><<><

Yes, Tommy. Lots of peanuts. Had them running into my legs the other night with fish on them behind me. Good luck.

I brought one FW rod, and an old Sustain 4000 over, along with our 2 fly rods. But I just can't get excited enough over yellow perch to walk 200 yards to the lake to even try.

I keep telling my wife we should rent a car, throw the flyrod tubes into the hatchback, and drive out to some streams before winter sets in. There's a river fish called siika, which looks like a grayling, that runs 40 Euros a kilo in the markets. And some solid brownies.
