BP oil spill

Saw on the news yesterday that much of the leaked oil seems to have disappeared. There were even picutures of marshes that were covered in oil previously with no oil on them. I'm guessing the warmer conditions in the gulf are helping to breakdown the oil compared to what was seen w/the exxon valdez. Hopefully, that is the case

What happens is that the oil may be leaching into the soil/sand and if you dig down below the surface you'll stike oil again.

Could be. They didn't dig down. Maybe the warmer soil is more pourus in LA than Alaska? They did show a bunch of scimmers sitting around with the capts. saying they can't find any more oil.

I don't know the answer to this at all but... if all those hydrocarbons really are dissipating into the air, what could that do to air quality?
