I missed it - I was out cold as a codfish by 10:30 or so from a dinner OD with champagne still in the cooler...

Yup, that's me, Mr Party Boy...

I guess #^&#^&#^&#^& is still suffering the effects of his stroke - I remember seeing him the 1st time back - it was tough to watch but pretty courageous on his part.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Having him on the show was not the worst of it....it was when he did the countdown at midnight!!! All I could think as he counted down from 20 was what a pitiful way to ring in the New Year!!! I could not even focus on the moment as he slurred through the countdown! I am not emotionless when it comes to strokes as my Dad had one....but the countdown was just the worst!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Made me sad, but I admire him for it. It takes a really tough old SOB to do that.

I remember all the hot chicks dancing on his show and then rating the songs afterwards. Hubba Hubba. Annette Funicello-Teen Angel 5th grade. Ooops wrong forum.

Very tough guy, and you know he knows just how off the old mark he was. You have to aplaud the network.

I watched the three stooges marathon instead and did see the lunatic on ESPN, in Vegas, jump his bike up onto and off of a 5 story building. Nuts. Never liked those New Years shows or watching a bunch of freezing , drunken morons in times square. Watch a ball drop, very thrilling , not.

Idon'tknow I think at some point you need to say enough is enough. It was painful seeing DC. I turned it off cause he was struggleing at times. The same thing happened to Bob Hope. Loved them both but don't care to seem them in that kind of condition. I would rather look at the blond bombshell and and fantasize on new years eve anyway.
