Troy Brown

The Pats refused to pick up the option on Troys contract making him a free agent. So what do you think, will Parcells pick him up for short money to reunite him with Drew. While the two were together here Troy was his security blanket after Coates.

5 million off the cap. It had to be done. Troy was a great player. The most versatile on the team, he will be missed.

He may actually be back (if there are no other interested teams). They needed to make room to get under the cap....today. Dropping Brown was the quick / easy solution to do so. I would sooner think Troy will be back with the Pats than Payton will be be back with the C's.

Wherever you go.... there you are!

True, once he clears waivers, he can resign to a new contract that is more cap friendly. I can see Troy be willing to do something like that where Ty Law wasn't willing to take paycut to stay with the team. I'm sure Troy wants to retire a Patriot.
