Marina For Sale

The marina I have been in for 7 years is up for sale. The yard manage (who is a good friend) is leaving when it sells.
Looks like it may be time for me to make some decisions at the end of the season.

No boat, back in the suds.

Brewer will buy it... just like they have bought every other small marina that goes up for sale.

you never know what happens after a sale... I had the same slip for 30 years... 3 years ago that marina was sold... the price went up steadily each season.. he added a water side pub... parking at night became a nightmare.... he let the marina go to the point that a lot of people have left... complaints about break ins and other problems ( especially parking) fell on deaf ears ... it was just like "good fellas" "bleep you pay me"... I moved to a new marina this season myself... back at the place where I started in 1972...things sure have changed a bit: tooth:... I'm looking foreword to the upcoming season... I paid in full back in November and he knocked off $5 a foot... recently he sent me a fishing calendar made with pictures from our area and a $25 gas card ( for their fuel dock) as a welcome gift... 30 years at the same place and all I ever got was fish carcasses and sea gull poop in my boat! ...Good luck ..I hope it works out for you...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Gonna look at Winstead for next year. I'm paid in full at Wharf so this year is locked down. We'll see what happens.

No boat, back in the suds.

Mike, I just don't see the sense of splashing and letting it sit. I'm ready to go with a couple of minor things to do on the trailer but I'm waiting until we get a few days straight above 65.

No boat, back in the suds.

110 mile R/T driving is not my idea of a good place to keep my boat.

Mike, terrible marina. Porta potty for a bathroom. Docks are falling apart.
I'm staying put for this year. Who knows next year. We will be in SC from Dec to April next year. I may sell the boat and the house here and move permanently to SC. Boats are less than half the cost there. Weather is beautiful there and I have had it with sh*$ty Springs here.

No boat, back in the suds.

Try obtaining a mooring in Newport.

You'd be looking at a 16 year waiting list.

I think the fort wetherall boat slips are something like 30 years to get one and it's only for Jamestown residents.

I'd say at the least 7-8 guys in our club have slips at ft. Wetherell. That's our post-tourney beers/grilling spot. Not a bad gig...

I had my boat at conanicut for a couple years and liked it. Pretty reasonable and was in a good spot.
