Any schoolies yet?

Back when I was young and a crazy surfcaster, March 15 or so was when the first schoolies would show up either at the West Wall or the Pawcatuck. Anyone, trying or hearing anything?

No boat, back in the suds.

Years back and Clammer knows where, I'd have already been out multiple times and hammering the holdovers, with a fair number of teens and twenty keepers once the shallows warmed a bit. It wasn't uncommon to have 100 fish days and you quit when you got tired, but those days are long gone unfortunately. I might wander down to that spot in a couple weeks to see if anything held over, but at almost 66 I don't have the enthusiasm I used to.

Bob , dennis went there last spring .couldn,t even get in ……. too much dredging ..
this is the 1st year that I know of that anyone I would believe didn,t catch a bass in the city ,.
also no adult pogies or peanuts NO SEALS

thats why at this age I,m not waiting for the next shut down & I,ve been updating my freshwater gear all winter …… nice sunny days this week but the cold & the wind is messing it up .

trying like hell to sell the tin rig …..with dennis passing , I,ll be fishing a lot less ..
Time is NOT on my side

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

Hitting a kettle pond on the cape Sunday or Monday for smallmouth and trout, but can’t wait for the sea bass season. Years back I’d much rather be out on the water come spring, now I’d rather be golfing.

My best winter fish this year. Caught this holdover during February vacation in open water after a day of ice fishing with the kids. Only in New England!

Holdovers are moving around.White clousers and half&halfs swung in the current in the upper saltponds along the bottom.

Primarily executating for the past ten days, but there are definitely trucks running around the mid-Cape with rods in the back looking for something. Maybe tomorrow swing by some back waters.
Anyone interested in a very extremely low hours Merc, like the weird 7.6 HP version, maybe with a 12' DuraNautic and trailer? Gotta check the details, but it might be available soon.
