E-tex Syringe re-use?

Just getting a feel for how many re-use their syringes for E-tex? When you switch to a new bottle do you clean them out with lacquer thinner / DA / acetone? Or just plug the old ones into the new bottles?

Thanks in advance, I hope the building season is underway for all

If it's been over a month I fill a dixie cup with D- alcohol and plunge-rinse it. I use a different cup for the 2nd syringe. Haven't tried acetone, afraid it would attack the plastic.

There is no reson to clean the Syringe as long as it is working properly and it has not been mixed up between the A or B bottles.

Same here ever since i went to syringes its been the best thing ever! i just rinse with Denatured Alc... the epoxy mixer was a nice upgrade as well. Just make sure you are not using the one with the rubber o-ring.

I like to clean them if the epoxy residue on the tips have been exposed to air for a period of time, the epoxy can get gummy and collect dust on the tips of the syringes -- that can go into your next batch.

On the topic of syringes -- and this might go without saying -- but if anyone is new to using them, make sure you get them from a rod building supplier. Epoxy-specific syringes do not have any silicone on them, which can be found on syringes from common sources. Silicone contamination will fish-eye the hell out of your plugs.
