This forum has been great......

other than me getting a little cranky and biting off the head of that clown shoes employee. Sorry about that. Thanks for adding it boss.

How would you guys feel about expanding it include food? We could talk recipes, restaraunts, etc?

Seems like there is an interest in this sort of thing since this forum has had a fair amount of activity.

I think food, recipes cooking etc would overwhelm the beer forum. My guess is there would be two three to one maybe nore food to beer posts. Keep the beer seperate and add a food , cooking , recipes etc category seperately.

I second a recipe forum, just made a pasta salad that had some red onion and fennel bulb which had been grilled.Served it with some black sea bass which I have been hammering lately. It's not like this forum is on fire Saltheart, why not welcome more traffic with a Food & Beverage option? We could also have drink suggestions like the Baby Guiness shots that nearly killed me recently.Change is good.

Have to agree that a little more traffic in here would be good. I also think the beer threads would hold their own when they're worthy of attention.

I know you guys don't suffer from tunnel vision...but this isn't just a beer forum. Its a Beer AND Beverage forum.

You guys can also talk Wine, Ports, Gins, Vodkas, Scotches, Bourbons, Tequilas.....post up drink recipes.

Feel free to talk up food pairings if you want.

Talk about Cigar and Brandy/Cognac pairings.

Anybody got a good Sangria recipe??? Post it up

don't need to just talk Beer.....open it up a little bit....expand your horizons. Mix it up gents

Here's one for white wine that I use often, especially in the summer:

WHITE SANGRIA

3 oranges, finely sliced
4 lemons, finely sliced
4 limes, finely sliced
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 cup tequila
1/2 cup triple sec or Cointreau
1 large (1.5l)bottle dry white wine, chilled
1 quart club soda

Place oranges, lemons, and limes in a large bowl, serving pitcher or jug. Pour the sugar over the fruit. Add the tequila and triple sec or Cointreau to the fruit mixture and mix gently. Let soak overnight if possible, at least a few hours. Add lots of ice to punch bowl. Pour in white wine and right before serving, add club soda.

Beer and beverage is a little redundant.Food and beverage has a nice ring to it without being superfluous.

Figure out what you guys want to do and I'll do it.

I'm glad this went up as I've found a few beers I like I would not have otherwise tried.

Food and Beverage would be good....wouldn't go the sub-forum route though....there's a lot of crossover between the 2.....also would just make it "Busier"

If you check around , you will see that cooking forums are the thrid highest viewed and read forums of all the how to forums behind only plug building (1) and rod building (2) . You'll get so many cooking recipes etc that peole will have to hunt for the beer/beverage posts and nobody will do that. Hey , I love to cook and would really enjoy a cooking forum but if its an all in one forum, simply put , the beer forum will die.

Agreed. I think it can work having 1 forum for both food and beverages.

What does the rod building forum on this site average? A post a week if that. If that has more traffic than food typically we should be more than fine.

I didn't get my numbers here as we have no cooking forum here at all and barely a rodbuilder forum at all either. I got the numbers elsewhere with almost 85, 000 posts in the cooking forum so there was significany stats behind it to help use it as a predictor. In fact with a second look , there are more posts there in the cooking forum than in the rodbuilding forum (about 80,000 posts). The rodbuilding has 2000 more threads.

It seems people would prefer a Food and Beverage Forum rather than 2 seperate "Beer and Beverage" and "Food and Cooking" forums. That's fine with me. I like cooking too. Gonna hate to have to read 50 cooking threads to find one beer recommendation though.

Would love to have some food talk. You wouldn't know it by my size but I am a great lover and consumer of food.I'd like to think that I'm a fairly decent cook particularly over openflame.
