Porbeagle'n

Heading to the Boston dumping grounds looking for a big porbeagle Friday. Got 2 hook ups with monsters there last weekend, but couldn't get them to the boat.
Off to try again

Got tossed around pretty good. 1 probable bite off. Very quiet otherwise. Plenty of macs still around.tried to get out sat also which was worse than Friday. Unrelenting wind.
Going to try again after thanksgiving

They are very difficult to hook on wire. they seem very leader shy. if you want to hook one, you need to use stealth tuna tactics but getting them to the boat is all together different.
I was arguing the need for tuna bomb/chaff gear to slide down..

Jon was asking about mousetraps, and I made some suggestion on how to hide the wire. Not sure if a tuna bomb would get in place in time to prevent a bite off.

Single strand won't work well for a trap - the wire will kink if you get the loops small enough to hide in a bait.

I regular trap plus a bomb should be fine.
