ROD QUESTION

Here is a question for the rod builders on the site. Are you able to take a orvis fly rod blank 9 to 10' & 8 weight and make a spinning rod out of it. What I am trying to accomplish is taking the reel seat and fighting butt off and putting a spinning reel seat and extended butt section on it to make it a spinning rod? I love the feel of the orvis trident fly rod and like the open fly guides to keep ice buildup down for winter steelheading.

Yes you can but be careful with the drag setting and the weights you use. even 1/2 OZ may be too much if you lean into it hard. You will break it if you over do it.
