taking the plunge on a fish finder/gps unit

So I am gonna pick up a GPS/Fishfinder combo. Leaning towards the Humminbird 385ci as that seems to be the go-to for most and everybody seems happy with it.
I am trying to find the balance between functionality and battery life, I don't want a huge energy hog where I have to charge the battery after every damn trip.

I'm also going to pair it up with a navionics chip to have some good detailed maps with depths and contours and all that....

Anybody have any opinions?

I can get 2 trips from my 7.5 Ah 12V battery (Werker) that I use on my Humminbird 383. The charge time is about 3-4 hrs

Very happy with the 383 which is the previous model of the current 385
