how sad is it when

a REAL journalist has to explain herself?
I've said it 100 times, I dont mind Plain being grilled, she SHOULD be grilled. But noone has been grilling Biden or Obama. Someone finally asks some hard, tough questions that some people really want to know teh answers too and its a big deal. The wusses on the Obama campaign pulled out of further discussions, yet they're gonna talk to our enemies face to face? Another sad day in New America

For those of us that can't play videos at work...

Barbara West's Joe Biden Interview Questions Marxist Undertones of Obama Sound Bites

Obama/Biden Ticket Seems to Figure You Can't Handle the Truth and Pulls Plug on WFTV
By Sylvia Cochran, published Oct 27, 2008

WFTV West-Biden Interview Results In Tough Questions

When Barbara West of Florida WFTV Channel 9 set out to interview Joe Biden, she had an agenda. She wanted answers to some of the rhetoric that has surfaced, and which showcases distinct Marxist undertones in Senator Barack Obama's political leanings. As the question of the now famously infamous "Joe, the Plumber" - and his subsequent deconstruction - showcase, there are questions that require answering.

The Boston Herald reports that most notably the "spreading the wealth" comment that sent the blood of any true blue capitalist to a boiling point appears to have inspired West to ask during her Florida Biden interview "how is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to 'spread the wealth'?" The interview is posted on You Tube.

Campaign Reactions to Joe Biden Interview Are Disappointing To Voters

Except to those who vote the party line in an attitude of "my party, right or wrong," the reaction of the Obama/Biden campaign in the wake of the Biden-West interview is disappointing. It was revealed that Florida WFTV Channel 9 has been revoked access to Senator Obama.

It appears that unless the media plays nice with Senator Obama, there will be no further interviews and therefore no ratings opportunities. Does this mean that the Obama/Biden ticket is not just intent on spreading the wealth but also on controlling the news?

West Biden Interview Digs Where Katie Couric Failed To Scratch the Surface

The CBS Evening News does not have to worry about having its access to Barack Obama pulled any time soon. Describing him as the "close-talking, free-wheeling, ice-cream loving Democratic nominee for vice president," CBS News and Katie Couric ask questions that are distinctly devoid of hard hitting requests for information.
This became glaringly obvious when Joe Biden, as reported by CBS News, equated paying increased taxes as a patriotic thing to do for those who are wealthier. MSNBC, quoting the Associated Press, reports that Joe Biden has already gone on record with ABC's "Good Morning America" as stating that "we want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people."

Whose money would that be? Florida WFTV and Barbara West sought to ferret out the answer in the Joe Biden interview - only to have their media access yanked, and collective head handed to them after being belittled by Mr. Biden.

Karl Marx and the Redistribution of Wealth

It is sad that the Marxist undertones of Senator Obama's campaign, as outlined by the Cumberland Times News, are not willingly discussed by either Barack Obama or Joe Biden. Making matters worse, the belittling of an interviewer and her subsequent vilification for having had the audacity to ask tough questions is in keeping with the socialist models of government we have seen in recent history in other locales.

Do I believe that Messrs. Obama and Biden are communists, Marxists or socialists? In the words of Joe Biden, as reported by the New Mexico Independent, "if it looks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, if it walks like a duck, it's a duck."

"If you're arguing with an idiot, make sure he isn't doing the same thing."

And What makes this Woman a REAL journalist as compared to others? They are all just talking heads for a network. Just because she asked things you wanted to hear doen't make her any more REAL than a Charlie Gibson or a Katie Couric.

They are ALL paid to just smile for the camera.

not only are they already in office, but they are also all Harvard Business School MBA arch-conservatives. They dont care about the little guy conservative with the wool over his head who votes in blind faith with the belief that his/hers, well maybe not hers, interest are aligned.

We hang petty thieves, send them to Shirley for 7 yrs cause they beat up some some other kid and took his Nikes, but the greatest thieves the US has seen has been elected to public office. I'd rather be a socialist, then a thief and a liar.

And worst of all, I'd never want to be a liar. At least a thief is after my salary- A liar steals one's reality...

thats crap, she asked challenging questions of the Dem candidates. that is something that has not been done by anyone. And beleive me, those are questions people SHOULD hear the answers too. If its not so different, why is it making headlines? I can post dozens of youtube interviews of McCain and Palin getting asked tough/biased questions yet there was no whining nor did they boycott the station. Gibson and Couric only asked tough question to the Republicans. And Gibson also provided a condecending smug grin throughout the interview.

If you saw the cnn blips, she also asked tough questions of McCain.
Noone from the McCain camp cried when John was gang raped by the harpies on the View. Apparently this questioning was too tough for Biden,

The fact is this- the rumors and fears of Obama turning this country into a communist country are insane and Biden was amazed that she would ask such an insane question.

I read the excerpts from the McCain Interview by her...they weren't that tough.

And just like McCain took his lumps with the Harpies (like that word ) Biden should take his.....I don't think it was right to prohibit the station from any further coverage...just suck it up and move on.

and i would never consider the harpies REAL journalists...McCain should have had is head examined for going anywhere near that group....that was a BAD decision on his part....They eat testicles by the Bowlfull

Unlike most people in this town, I have the dubious distinction of actually being born in Cambridge (or as StriperSnipr calls "the public restroom"). Ivy league students, while most of them are no doubt exceptionally bright, I tend to find some of them over priviledged products of their pampered environments and not particularly friendly. Its no wonder they grow up to commit some the greatest white collar heists capitalism has ever seen. I guess there just products of there environment, i mean, look at the schools they attended, their parents, the debate club, the european backpacking, the drug use and foam parties. I guess I can't blame them anymore then those kids that grew up in East Cambridge who have not even been to Marthas Vineyard.

Enough about the 'bridge though...

lets talk about this Fox New Manufactured contreversy. Fox News almost has me believing its the second coming of the Bolsheviks.

In my opinion, I do believe that Obama's campaign overreacted. There is no need to be petty, his campaign up until now had managed to avoid the exercises in partisan slimeballing, personal attacks and media bashing. Obama should let McCain tow that barge, because Palin sure enough has filled it with plenty of sludge the media vultures can circle over and pick through. Biden should've have been more like his hair; calm, cool and collect.

...but since were stirring a pot of anti-socialist beef that I thought spoiled in the Reagan years, maybe someone can clear some things up for me about Obama's tax plan. What I have observed lately, is that the major media conglamerate has all these talking heads debating the impending financial bloodletting that will occur under Obama's tax policies, but nobody mentions how much, percentage wise, businesses in question will make. Hmmm... From what I understand, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, he plans to increase taxes on businesses that profit $250k/ yr by a hire freezing, jaw dropping, socialism inducing %4. Thats right Jim, %4. Now here is where my logic train runs off the track, how does this translate into Joe Bidens familiarity with Marxist quotations?

God almighty! Please forbid any and all marginal government intrusion/regulation into the lives of the corporate shephards as they shave all the remaining wool from their proleteriat flocks. Corporate capitalism works, letterheaded IOUs are just as good as cash!!

thats a good question. Here is my take. So Obama said "spreading the wealth around" and that led to talk of socialism and spawned the Karl Marx question. Lets contrast that with Palin saying " our soliders are on a task from God" and that spawned great debate on this forum as well as a significant debate from the media as if Palin was a religious wack job thinking the war is about religion. Both quotes are taken to the extreme for political purposes. I think that McCain/Plain have been taken to task much more often that Obama/Biden. So if Obama is getting grief for socialism, I dont have a lot of pity.

Ultimatley it comes down to who do you want to give your $ too? I dont make $ when the US governemnt is profitable. I make it when business is profitable via a 401k or direct investments. I'd rather see the corporations get tax breaks and invest in new things and get a bigger return which I could potentially profit from.

look at this, questions from Larry King. Look how they researched her and found out that she is a registered republican! Is this sinking in with you guys at all? The media will now be on a hunt to flame this lady for asking these questions. They should be APPLAUDING HER FOR ASKING THESE QUESTIONS!
