Fencing on a hill?

Ok...I'll try out the new forum!

I have been putting this off for too long and now the existing fence is ready to fall down. Rotted etc.

Question is this: Below, you can see the old fence. I want to put a new vinyl fence up instead of wood again. No maintenance is good for me! How do I install a vinyl fence on this slope? I've poked around and it looks I'd need to cut the fence down and "step" down the slope. Is there a way to do it like the existing one or am I hosed? It's a pretty steep grade. Want to hid the backyard from the road so people can't see how much of a mess it is
