Learned Something Today

In my never ending quest to find a better/cheaper/easier way to do something I got the bright idea to try and prime some plugs I am building using a detail/touchup spray gun. It worked great except for the fact that it took 2 minutes to spray the plugs and 30 to clean the gun. I think I will be sticking to the foam brushes from here on in for primer. The stuff came out smooth, just not worth the extra effort as the stuff I was using levels itself out pretty good when brushed anyways.

Oh, and a side note: Rustoleum Clean Metal Primer(oil based) in the can sticks great to linseed sealed wood! I have a few cans of the stuff for another project I'm working on and figured I'd give it a shot. I tried to scrape the cured primer off a test scrap(dipped in BLO and dried for 2 days) and couldn't without digging some wood out with it! And the Createx sticks to this stuff without needing a scuff coat of flat white Krylon over it first.

The rustoleum primer is good stuff.
if u do more plugs then it becomes more time efficient.
