I use # 4 Gamagatsu live bait ( they are a salt water hook) they have short shank ,thick shank and large ringed eye .... which make it easy to tie a palomer knot with stiff fingers and old eyes.. because I mainly use live smelt for rainbow trout and white perch, this hook is good for either..I used to use #6 Gamagatsu octopus style but I actually straightened 2 hooks on large ( lakes region NH) trout .. it was enough for me to make the change...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Been using Eagle Claw 1/0 Kahle hooks for shiners last few years. 50packs are pretty cheap and seem to get less deep hooks on the kahle style.

Been using them for years. Great Pike hook.

that would look good just under your avatar

i remember staring at a straightened out hook
for what seemed like forever in disbelief
but of course it was an eagle claw light gauge that allowed my
root-beer sluggo to sink or "glide" just right.
