dishonesty at the DNC

I turned to the convention for a minute, and I see a democrat, Elijah Cummings, claiming that it was the Democratic party that fought to end segregation.

Nothing like re-writing a little history. Why not claim that Abraham Lincoln was a Democrat while he's at it?

At the RNC, Trump said at one point that Obama is "exporting jobs and importing terrorists". That made me cringe, because it's not true. There is no evidence of that.

No liberal at that level, can get through a speech, without lies like that. For example...

those who are pro life don't feel that way because of empathy for the baby, but because we are anti-woman and anti-choice

those who think we need to enforce our duly constituted immigration aren't just supporting fair play, but we are anti-Mexican.

those who think that even Christian bakers are endowed with freedom of religion as expressed in the Constitution, only say that because we hate gays

those who say that we need to tweak Social Security and Medicare aren't saying that because we want those vital programs to be viable...no, it's because we hate old people and sick people.

It's non stop. Non stop.

One only demonizes the opposition, when one cannot respond to what they are actually saying.

Cummings also said it was the Democrats who championed black voting rights. The 15th Amendment to the Constitution, guaranteeing black men the right to vote, was passed with every Republican voting yes and every Democrat voting no. There were 56 Democrats in Congress at the time, and all 56 vote against that Amendment.

I'm not saying there haven't been changes to the party makeup since then...clearly there has been change. But the willingness of these people to lie, is staggering. Go ahead Spence and Paul, tell me how Cummings is actually correct.

Sigh. So what did I saw that was incorrect, oh Enlightened One?

Every single Democrat in Congress voted against the 15th Amendment. I believe that every single Republican voted for it. But Elijah Cummings is correct in saying that the Dems did the heavy lifting to secure black voting rights? I would just be tickled to death, to hear you explain how there's any truth to that.

This was actually about the time that the parties started shifting. Since the equal right act had been passed, the GOP figured most of the important work had been done, so they moved on. The Democrats took a hard turn to the left and started rallying around affirmative action and hiring quotas. The GOP resisted these things, because they didn't see the logic in fighting racism with racism.

It's been totally rewritten in the last eight years. For example, now it's the Democrats that ended slavery.

Yes I have, which is how I know that I am correct.

Have you ever shown a speck of intellectual honesty? Can you do so, now?

You logged on, lobbed a vague insult, then scurried off.
