Marble shelf

I have to attach a small marble shelves to metal brackets what's the best way to do it. Construction adhesive?

Just screw right into it, marble is very forgiving

If the shelves are sitting right on the brackets I'm not sure what you would use besides some adhesive, although I might be inclined to just use clear silicone.

That being said, why are you putting marble shelves on metal brackets?

BC it looks good. Only 1 small shelf somewhere near the bathroom sink.

Wash both surfaces with an alcohol base cleaner.
Apply 3M 2 sided adhesive tape matching the width of the brackets (a heat gun to warm both surfaces will assure better adhesion)
It won’t go anywhere !

When installing granite counter tops, all they use is silicone. It should be fine for metal brackets too.
