Mycrobaterial disease

Has anyone caught any bass with this disease?
I didn't realize it until I got home that the 40"+ fish was bad.
The tail was shredded, and she had sores on both sides. I ended up planting her in a shallow grave.
It pains me that I had to waste such a fish. (Most people advise not eating anything from a fish with this disease.)
I haven't seen anything like this in all me trips down to the canal, but I won't be forgetting it soon either.

Saw it once on a fish jigged up off the Race. The fish do look pretty beat up when they have it. Only waste of the fish was as food for the crabs - I'd guess it wouldn't last the season in that condition.
