Remember When?

Remember when you used to go to Sears....buy a TV, bring it home, plug it in and you were good to go?!?!?!?! Well....Fishchick and I went out over the weekend and bought one of them new fangled HD TV thingys!!! What a royal pain in the balls that was!!! TV....Sony....$1,300.00....then they have to hook you up with a bunch of friggen do-hickeys to hook the TV to.....some "box" for surge protection and a cable thing-a-ma-bob! Add those and the "extended warranty" and we are into this sucka for a cool $1,600.00! Oh....and lets not forget the cable company is coming to hook us up with digital and DVR.....that will be about $150.00 I bet!! Now wouldn't you think them extras ya buy with the TV would just come along with the TV....ya need them right? No....that makes too much sense and then Best Buy would not make all that money!! I am not big into this TV stuff....big TV's do nothing for me and sure....the HD is nice but I would have been just as happy with a $400.00 Sony 32 inch job!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I never buy them most of the time....but you go spend $1,300.00 on a TV and tell me to have it covered for 4 years is not worth $179.00???

Just think if you didn't by the extras you'd have a $1,300 TV sitting there ....with Rabbit Ears and Tinfoil

With children in the home an employee of Tweeter told me that the average tv only is expected to last 4 years. I told him when I bought my last one if it only lasted four years I would bring it back and throw it through the front window. I smiled, he didn't. The TV's are getting light again,55 to 60 pounds, which means when the house is B & E'd the TV will be taken cause it can be carried easily.

Larry, you sound like that commercial-
Guy - "she wanted a cat, I didn't want a cat, so we compromised, we got a cat"

Although I have to admit, this one was a great compromise! Now the question is - a nice little romantic movie, or Stripers Gone Wild?

If you have questions about this technology let me know. My company is a custom design AV/home technology company. We design and install systems from 1 room set ups to complete luxury home set ups. It gets a bit overwhelming with all that is out there.

See the ad I put in the classifieds for the 36in Sony hd ready XBR trinitron.
I paid allmost $2500 for this tv 5 years ago, now has a problem with the tube, and I don"t want to put what if will cost for a new tube into it.
Seems I can't give the thing away now!
