Flaptail Identification

Does anyone happen to know the builder of this flaptail?

Paint looks like a Snook Bait and the shape of the flap looks to be that era too. Nice lure

Great Russo!

Charles Russo was involved in a number of plug making companies, including his own under his name. He was also the silent partner in the Snook Bait Co., which produced many plugs that obviously have similarities to Russo's.
This is a beautiful example of a Russo flaptail, worth a pretty penny. If it came with the correct box in good shape, its value really goes up. In fact, I think that anyone who doesn't collect and know its value would be shocked at the figures - I know I was!

Thank you, gentlemen. I will notify the owner that it looks like he has an original Russo.

I have several of them... I also made some dupes and handed them out at plug fest... I'm not sure that is an original.. the ones I have all have a spoon type flap tail which is rather large and made of brass...the ones I built I used that "Heddon" type of flap like the picture has...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

It may be an early Lido flaptail. The ist ones had screwed in hook holders. Later they went completely threw wire.
