Old plugs

I saw a picture of a salt water plug called the "Wanderer" . It is long, 8"- 9", w/ a wide concave head and a needlefish nose. When fished, water pushing against the concave head forces the plug to move erraticly side to side. It was painted in bands around the body. It looks like a design from the 50's. Very interesting.
Are there many other designs no longer produced that were once popular (or not) but aren't used anymore?
