Duplicating tip

I don't have a duplicator and always had trouble making plugs with the same amount of blank left over so I could do the rest of the drilling in a jig.
Then I had a thought and it works.
Put a piece of masking tape on the face of the tool rest, you can mark the ends of the plugs, and anything else you want to locate on the tape. Then just use your skew chisel to mark the ends, the joint in a jointed or a pencil to mark hook and weight locations.

Thumbs up

Good thinking, I've just been marking the toolrest. Sometimes it's hard to see.

Make a plexigass template of ur favorite design. To do this spin one and cut it in half trace the profile to the P-glass an cut it out on the bandsaw...c-clamp it to the tool rest..This may take some ginding on the toolrest to get it flat for the clamps...
take ur skew set a depth from the back of the template..Place a small c-clamp on the back edge of the skew so it rides along the template..
It's rough but it works..

It's usually darkest just before it turns Black..

I don't have as much as a duplicator costs in all my plugbuilding stuff. There are other ways to do it.

With the marks on the tool rest and a couple fo sets of calipers you can do OK. Get to the diameters with a partign tool and ththe caliper then blend the shapes with the skew and sand.
