Fort Myers
Seeing some Aerial footage . And all the boats and high end properties
Not seeing much about the Trailer parks which there are many ! flooded . I happen to have an Aunt and my cousin who were to stubborn to leave . Spent the night on the dinner table ..
I see a sad few years ahead for many between looting no insurance or very little insurance and new zoning and building codes that will force many out and you’ll see hedgefunds sweeping in to buy up anything they can ..

One of my first SnowBird clients are driving down to Cape Coral tomorrow. They have been in touch with their full time Floridian neighbors and friends who told them it is bad. 4-5 feet of water in their home (new kitchen was completed this past July) Boat on its side in the cradle, convertible floating in front yard. They live on a canal too. I helped by picking out cordless tools, masks, lots of gloves and a charging station that were being loaded into their SUV for the trip, along with food and water. They plan on leaving that vehicle there for friends to use. Two friends' boats are missing... 40' and a 60'... They will fly back in a couple of days after they go through their drawers to see what can be salvaged and then turn it over to a contractor to clean out.

FL is a nice place to visit and get in some excellent fishing, but I’d never even consider moving there. I kinda have a similar opinion of Maine, love the wildness, the outstanding smallie fishing, nothing like listening to the loons, but the winter is to long and the bug season is brutal. I’m staying put, hopefully the nor’easters are a little less harmful this year.

Just another reason why I’d never want to live in Fla. My sister rode it out in Bonita Springs. 1 block from the flooding. She got lucky.

Then Finland wouldn't be the place for you either.
Maine at least has 8-9 hours of daylight in winter, as opposed to the 5 that I have.

Officials in Florida have come under fire as critics allege residents in some hard-hit areas did not receive enough advance warning to evacuate.
I call BS on that anyone with half a brain had the same information as those who ordered evacuations
I blame stubbornness stupidity and complacency..
I saw plenty of people even after the storm refusing to leave
Not sure why they call them mandatory evacuations with no force of law
so They’re just recommendations anyway
