Equipment - VS jigging rod, Fin Nor 8500 with 80 lb PP with Streamline wind on.

A couple minutes after loosing this fish, my buddy cast an unweighted white sluggo that got crushed. 40 minute battle as we passed the rod around. 57" fish landed.

Equipment - OTI Tuna Sniper 60/80 rod, Saragosa reel with 60lm JB hollow with streamline windon.
Contact Roger, he probably like to analyze it. I was happy with my line. My direct splice from JB to Tuff line color changing, then my own windon held up fine. My rod was a different story snapped 1 foot from the top.

So,
Was that "on the water" filming out there, fishing in a large blue center console with a large green center console filming?

Not sure if it was OTW but I was wondering why they were so close and when I looked through the binoc's it looked like they were filming.

Yes OTW was filming. They posted pictures on FB. Here is one of them. The escort boat was the Four Buoys. "RonZ 10-inchers on the 4X swivel-eye, swing hook tin head. Deadly lure, and solid hook ups."

The boat went 4 for 6 with the biggest 74"! Maybe that is why they are on TV.

I was able to fight his fish for a few minutes while he took a rest. The rod really feels nice, has plenty of backbone. It is longer than traditional tuna spinning rods but does cast a country mile.

The only comfort I find in this forecast is that I have a work trip Wed-Fri this week. It's still days away so the end of next week could still change for the better. Not to sound selfish but it would be complete agony for me if I was away and the forecast was sweet. Hope it turns better for next weekend but time is ticking away.........

I too have work commitments which keeps me on the ground through Thursday, here's hoping that Friday and beyond quiets down. Think the tuna will wait for Mother Nature to get her act together?

2 or 3 years ago Tommy D on the Bigfish got 3 on December 11th.

A couple of big noreasters will clear the big body of fish off the bank - if it just keeps getting cold, but no storms, we'll be good for quite a while.
