Real Tree Or Fake Tree?
Well, which do you prefer? Lets open a can of worms here....this should prove controversial! I grew up with a fake tree and it was all I ever knew....I loved that old beatup tree because I am an old fashioned, traditional guy! However, once I got out of the house and on my own, got a real tree and I never looked back! It just ain't Christmas with a fake tree and I frown whenever I see one. Not to mention some of these pieces of crap they sell today....FishChicks sister bought a new fake tree the other day and the lights come already on the tree! What happens when the lights fail? Throw the whole tree away? I love the smell of a new tree and I do not mind the mess after cleaning up! For the pleasure I get out of it, it is worth it to me! My brother has a fake tree and every year we go over to his house and the damn thing always looks the same, year after year! Which do you have?

Yo, are you surfcasting on the board? You awfully seemed to be bored. Are you and fishchick supposed to be sharing holiday warmth away from the screen?
I got me a fake electric tree. One problem and I'll be zapped hard like a national lampoon.

If you mean by walking all day long with a frozen ICED jean and a pair of frozen feet today... No, my family and I aren't getting into it now. We don't shop anymore!

most of the fakes out there look like fleepin TOILET BRUSHES.
If you want a nice fake one you gotta spend dough. They look real though....
I'd never have real, I personally think it's a waste of a resource. It's a symbol, not something to kill a tree over....

We always hada real when growing up. But I went fake when i got married. Did it for about 15 years and then had to throw it out. Started to use real and did for about 5 years!! But I am glad to say that we got a real nice fake on a after xmas sale and for the last 3 years we are fake again!!
Get one of them pine sented candles and you can have all the smell you want.
I have a few people that ask me every year is that real or fake they can't tell!!

No tree up this year...but the past few years have been a small fake tree...and only because space is limited and it was given too us. But I prefer a REAL tree....reminds me of being a kid and my father taking us into the woods to cut our own (I swear he picked the heaviest and FARTHEST from the house on purpose )

Definitely Real! Family activity, we all pile in the truck and hit some tree farm as far out in the middle of nowhere as I can find. They pick it out and I use the dull bent saw the tree farm provides to cut it down. I get covered in mud, snow and needles cutting it down and when we get home we always find out we bought one taller than the cieling so then there's the trimming off the bottom, hands frozen and covered in pitch, three voices saying over and over, "Daddy (or Honey) when are you going to bring it inside?" Then once inside there's always the discussion about recipes for putting aspirin in the water so it lasts longer, then making me redo the lights five or six times before my womenfolk take over decorating. Sound like a pain in the neck? After all that I sit and have a beer and watch thempicking out ornaments and singing and carrying on and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mrs. SF, don't encourage him. Christian, I guess sometime you had a bad experience with Albert Einstein, that's between you and the genius, I don't even want the image in my head, but the question here is, "real or fake?" Chop it yourself, bargain for one off the lot or pull it out of the box fully decorated?
Any Long Islanders out there remember back when the only place you could buy a fake tree (or a pool table) was Harrows on 110?
