Finished Darters, old school look

every one swims, Took them to M in that 4 foot heave when they were naked with just theyre hardware and hooks, and threw them. I was able to get working darters from
Douglas Fir
AYC
Pine
and Unweighted maple
all of those, AYC pine and DF had weights logged in theyre, pine was the trickiest as It was a very bouyant wood, and hard to keep in shape, So it needed a good amount of lead. I used a thin coat of finish, so it woulnt alter the action, like etex can.
Shooting for that old style look, Enjoy guys!

Good for you. An ambitious undertaking. They have got sort of a seahag shape. Where did you get the decal eyes?

Thanks Guys! My brother had a guy who knew a guy who made the decal eyes. The problem is they come on a sicker sheet, and you have to hole punch them out, about 1 in 4 comes right!

what makes them old school? is it the far forward location of the swivel or the classic shape?
They look real good to me.
