I think you’d be be better off keeping a spot personal beacon on an inflatable PFD that you always wear.

Was thinking that i could cover days i am alone and with others yet a better model is only 100 bucks more than a personal with better location accuracy. Or a Mob+ Wireless Man-Overboard Cutoff Switch

If you are by yourself, a fancy boat mounted epirb is useless if you fall overboard.
That’s just my thoughts as an offshore sailor. There could be some fishing minded Epirbs out there that I don’t know about

Epirb

Just my 2 cents. Epirb is great if you can stay near it. Plb is small enough to have on you. I would much prefer to have them find me than the boat just saying.

Neither would be considered essential unless you are offshore

The claw and a corner of the dump is offshore for me , but once a year maybe

So personal one might be the better

Epirb

no power, wind blowing me out, no boats around I would deploy PLB well before I hit the lanes where the big boys are
