Custom Loomis 1266 Conventional built by George Hevey at Murats

I have decided to part with some of my best fishing gear as health issues now limit where I can go and how often I can go.

First up is my Custom Loomis 1266 Conventional rod.. It was built by George Hevey at Murats. Is rated 1 to 5 but its a 1 to 4 rod. Fast action , 2 piece. I have fished it with a Calcutta 400 , ABU 6500 Mag Elite or ABU BG 6500 .

This has been my go to rod for beach and shoreline fishing. Its built with Fuji SiC guides and Fuji graphite conventional trigger seat and cork tape grip. $200 picked up or meet me nearby Cumberland/Providence , RI

George was a good friend and a damn good rod builder. He learned from Charlie Murat's son-in-law, Dave Hammock.
PM me with any Murat 1-piece rods. I'll buy them.

No boat, back in the suds.

I'll try to take a pic or two tomorrow. Don't remember how many guides. Likely 7 but I'll check that too.

The blank Surface is perfect the whole length of the rod. The thread finish has typical scuffs scratches , guide feet cracks as you will see on all rods after a year or two of use.

I did not wax the rod or do anything to cover blemishes before taking the pics. A coat of car wax on the thread finish should spruce it up nicely. I would not put any wax etc on the blank as that has the Loomis matte finish and is just about perfect.
It does have 7 Fuji SiC guides.

It really is a great all around plugging and eeling rod. It is the only rod I ever use for eeling from the shore. Very sensitive to hits do to action.

If you could find this blank anywhere it would be about $430 to have a rod like this custom made. It is unlikely you could find this blank since loomis no longer sells blanks..just factory rods.

Sorry to ask a rhetorical question but its a 6+1 correct? I bought one like it and had it converted to spinning which is what i am thinking here, it really is a nice blank and i want another one, i just want to make sure the guide count is right.

7 guides plus a tip. This is exactly how I would build it now if I did it myself.

Question

I used to tie at Murats on the weekends and befriended George's grandson Scott. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could contact him to take him out on the water.

If it's still available I'll take it for $200 shipped to 04096.
